Overview

FBC of Owensville, MO is seeking a FULL-TIME WORSHIP PASTOR. FBC averages around 225 in attendance across two Sunday morning worship services (contemporary and traditional). We also have an active handbell choir. A college/seminary degree in vocal music and previous ministry experience is preferred. Familiarity with current music technology and social media platforms is a plus.

Principal Function

The Worship Pastor is responsible for leading the worship and creative arts ministry at First Baptist Church of Owensville.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as part of the pastoral team and be a part of all aspects of the vision, goals and decisions of First Baptist Church.
  • Direct the planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating of the worship and creative arts ministry, including praise team, choirs, and audio and visual systems. Communicate the overall vision of First Baptist Church within that ministry.
  • Recruit and train volunteers for the worship and creative arts ministry, including vocalists and instrumentalists.
  • Provide pastoral care to the members of the worship and creative arts ministries, discipling and empowering volunteers to step into leadership roles and use the talents God has gifted them with.
  • Assist the Senior Pastor in the planning and programming of all worship services.
  • Lead in planning and promoting a graded choir program; direct adult, youth, handbell, and other choirs as needed.
  • Maintain an inventory of worship materials, supplies, musical instruments and other equipment.
  • Stay current on worship methods, materials, promotion and administration.
  • Coordinate and assist with music for weddings, funerals and other specific events as needed.
  • Prepare an annual worship budget for approval by the Finance Committee; administer the approved budget using appropriate financial controls.
  • Maintain church compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, including copyright infringement laws.
  • Accountable to the Senior Pastor.
Qualifications

Typically, a college/seminary degree in vocal music and previous ministry experience are preferred. Familiarity with current music technology and social media platforms is a plus.
