Student Graphic Designer/Print Production Assistant
The student graphic designer/print production assistant works closely with the Printing Services Coordinator and other team members to learn the digital print production process. The student graphic designer/print production assistant pre-flights files for print production, consults customers with their projects, designs monthly Program Guide, prepares variable data files for printing, and designs marketing items for Printing and Postal Services from planning to final production using Adobe Creative Suite.
Other programs used are Print Shop Pro (print production), and Fusion Pro.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in, or completed, courses in graphic design, typography, production, etc. in pursuit of a degree in graphic design. Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Demonstrate talent as a designer, including the ability to combine function and visual appearance to achieve successful communication. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as good organizational and planning skills. Ability to work within established Missouri State University branding and style guidelines.
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite:
Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Creative self-starter who is comfortable with taking initiative and working in collaboration with others. Flexible yet able to adhere to strict deadlines. Active Learning – Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures backgrounds.

- Knowledge of Print Shop Pro and Fusion Pro software is preferred, but not required.
