The Community Ambassador serves as a liaison between residents and management, establishes relationships with prospective residents, and creates a vibrant community atmosphere that promotes resident satisfaction and retention. Through programming, one‑on‑one contact, problem‑solving, and a focus on resident well‑being, the Ambassador acts as a role model for both students and residents, exhibiting strong commitment to service needs and representing the company professionally and courteously.
EssentialJob Functions
- Participate in developing and implementing community enrichment programs, area meetings, and events that support
B.Hom Student Living’s living‑learning environment, coordinating social and developmental programs with staff to achieve community goals. - Participate in marketing and leasing efforts to meet weekly and monthly leasing goals.
- Cover rotating office shifts during posted day and business hours, including nights and weekends; duties include giving tours, leasing responsibilities, phone contacts, customer service, and general office work.
- Cover rotating (on‑call) Community Ambassador on‑duty shifts after‑hours and on weekends; duties include touring the property, handling lockouts, responding to noise complaints, and addressing emergency situations.
- Serve as a resource for residents regarding services offered by
B.Hom Student Living, surrounding community, local colleges and universities, and issues such as conflict resolution and crisis management. - Interact with potential residents by giving tours, discussing benefits of living at the property, distributing marketing materials, and attending housing fairs.
- Serve as a role model and represent
B.Hom Student Living positively to residents and visitors. - Assist the General Manager and residents during all move‑in and move‑out periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Where required by law, must have a state leasing license or the ability to obtain the required license(s) within the mandated timeframe.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and strong, demonstrated computer technology skills, including social media use.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
- Strong ability to plan and organize multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Must have completed a minimum of 12 undergraduate hours upon start date with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 undergraduate hours or 6 graduate hours during the academic year (not including summers).
- Must be able to reside in an assigned staff apartment.
- Must move on‑site no later than one month prior to fall semester move‑in day to participate in fall training and building opening preparation.
9am–6pm, Monday–Friday, with extended hours and/or weekends required as scheduled or as needed to meet business needs. Community Ambassadors must commit an average of 20 hours per week to office hours, off‑site marketing and promotional activities, on‑call duty shifts, programming, and regular resident interaction.
Physical Requirements / EnvironmentThis job operates mainly in a professional office environment but may also include occasional outdoor settings. Employees must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods, occasionally move about the office, constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, communicate regularly and effectively, and may occasionally lift up to 30pounds.
The role requires close visual acuity to perform tasks such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. Travel locally, overnight, or to specified regions or states by automobile and airplane may be required.
