For many travelers, the Springfield-Branson National Airport is their very first introduction to Springfield and the person behind the Information Center desk may be one of the first people they meet.
Visit Springfield is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and service-minded Part-Time Visitor Services Associate to help welcome travelers to our community and make that first impression a great one.
As a Visitor Services Associate at the airport, you'll serve as an ambassador for Springfield. Whether you're answering a quick question, helping someone find transportation, recommending a restaurant, pointing a visitor toward their hotel, or simply offering a friendly welcome after a long day of travel, your job is to make people feel like they've arrived somewhere they're glad to be.
You don't have to know every restaurant, attraction, or street in Springfield. What matters most is that you enjoy helping people, are willing to find answers when you don't know them, and take pride in representing our community well.
What You'll Do- Serve as a welcoming and professional presence at the Visit Springfield Information Desk inside the Springfield-Branson National Airport.
- Greet arriving travelers and help create a positive first impression of Springfield from the moment they arrive.
- Answer questions about Springfield and provide helpful information about attractions, restaurants, hotels, events, entertainment, shopping, and other things to see and do.
- Assist travelers with general questions about the community, including directions, transportation options, and navigating their next steps after arriving in Springfield.
- Help travelers locate visitor resources, maps, guides, brochures, and other helpful information.
- Maintain an organized, stocked, clean, and welcoming Information Desk.
- Keep visitor guides, brochures, maps, and promotional materials organized and readily available.
- Stay informed about Springfield attractions, events, businesses, seasonal activities, and other information that may be helpful to travelers.
- Assist travelers from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and destinations with patience, professionalism, and hospitality.
- Work collaboratively with Visit Springfield staff, airport personnel, volunteers, and community partners.
- Assist with visitor engagement initiatives, special projects, and other opportunities that support Visit Springfield's mission.
- Support additional visitor services and operational needs as assigned.
You don't have to be a walking encyclopedia of Springfield. We can teach you the details. What we're looking for is someone who genuinely enjoys helping people and understands that even a short interaction can shape how someone feels about our city.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A friendly, approachable personality and a genuine enjoyment of meeting and helping people.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to remain patient and helpful when working with travelers who may be tired, rushed, confused, or unfamiliar with the area.
- A sense of pride in Springfield and an interest in representing our community well.
- Dependability and the ability to work independently while also being part of a larger team.
- Good judgment and the ability to problem-solve or find the right resource when you don't immediately know an answer.
- The ability to multitask and remain attentive in an airport environment where activity levels can change throughout a shift.
- A willingness to continually learn about Springfield's attractions, restaurants, hotels, events, transportation options, businesses, and visitor offerings.
- Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, customer service, visitor services, or a similar public-facing role is a plus, but not required.
- Must be available for shifts:
Days, Evenings, Weekends
