State Technical College of Missouri is accepting applications for an instructor to start in July 2026 within the Commercial Construction Technology program. This is a full-time, annual contract, exempt, and benefit-eligible 9-month instructor and/or 12-month instructor/chair position. Apply today at .
Required qualifications include a minimum of five years of experience in the Commercial Construction industry; a bachelor’s degree or the willingness to earn one; as well as excellent communication, computer, and interpersonal skills. Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations. Supervisory experience is required for the Chair position.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred qualifications include prior teaching/training experience; especially in a hands‑on or vocational setting; as well as five or more years of related work experience in one or more of the following areas: construction management or commercial building construction.
Job Responsibilities- Deliver Instruction: Teach courses related to commercial construction, including building codes, project management, safety standards, and construction technology.
- Curriculum Development: Design, update, and maintain course materials to align with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
- Student Support: Advise and mentor students on academic progress, career pathways, and professional development.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Develop and grade assignments, exams, and projects to measure student learning outcomes.
- Industry Engagement: Maintain relationships with construction professionals to ensure program relevance and provide students with networking opportunities.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to institutional policies, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols during lab and field activities.
- Professional Development: Stay current with trends, technologies, and best practices in commercial construction.
