This position is responsible for supporting the instructional program by assisting with the management of the Gifted Education programs and services; promote and advance appropriate gifted curriculum; coordinate school activities; and address issues, situations and/or problems that arise with enrolled students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Collaborates with staff and community partners improving the overall quality of student outcomes and achieving established classroom objectives.
- Facilitate and participate in a variety of meetings convening and/or gathering information; coordinating activities; and/or ensuring that outcomes achieve school, district and/or state objectives.
- Facilitates the development, communication implementation and evaluation of quality learning enhancing excellence, equality and equity for staff and students.
- Implements policies, procedures, new programs and/or processes providing direction and/or complying with mandated requirements to help ensure a safe and effective learning climate for students.
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations meeting regulatory and other requirements.
- Manages a variety of school administrative functions, as assigned by the Principal - Gifted Education, maintaining safe and efficient school operations within district guidelines.
- Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars conveying and/or gathering information required to performfunctions.
- Prepares a wide variety of written materials documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveyinginformation.
- Reports incidents maintaining personalsafety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to applicable laws and/or regulations.
- Responds to a variety of inquires resolving problems, providing information, and/or referring to appropriate personnel.
- Provides connection and clear gifted service information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides district, state and national gifted learning opportunities to families of gifted students.
- Analyzes appropriate levels and resource materials for faculty to differentiate curriculum.
- Approves gifted curriculum materials produced at building level.
- Communicates with kindergarten teachers regarding the referral and screening process for kindergarten-gifted services.
- Support communication/contact with local Universities regarding staff preparation and specific certification requirements.
- Communicate with tech support to provide individual student testing information, student schedules, and update K-12 state and gifted status in the district database.
- Design and maintain grade specific websites and facilitate communication of curriculum information, calendar and event information, and links to specific documents.
- Collaborate to create and disseminate student TLC (Teacher Liaison Connection) communication.
- Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree in job-related area from an accredited college or university, required.
- Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Special Requirements
- Gifted Education Certification, required.
- Missouri Administrators Education Certification, preferred.
- Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.
- Knowledge of perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems.
- Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include strong analytic, performance management, accountability, and systems- thinking to inform strategic planning and execution.
- Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
- Skill based competencies required to perform the functions of the job, including excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills with a keen ability to navigate among all levels of the organization, the school network and with external stakeholders.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with others to support the operational objectives of the District.
- Demonstrates cultural competency and a deep understanding of, and empathy for, students, families, staff and the community.
- Ability to analyze situations to define issues, draw conclusions and create action plans.
- Ability to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use job-related equipment.
