General Function

The Part‑Time Elementary Spanish Instructor is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction for students in grades K–6. Greenwood seeks an educator who fosters curiosity, confidence, and cultural awareness while helping students build foundational language skills through interactive and age‑appropriate learning experiences. Greenwood recognizes the unique nature of part‑time instructional positions and will consider scheduling flexibility based on candidate availability and school needs.

The instructor will collaborate with classroom teachers and school administrators to support Greenwood’s college preparatory mission and positive school culture.

Description of Primary Duties
  • Provide Spanish instruction for students in grades K–6
  • Design and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, activities, games, music, movement, and technology to support student learning
  • Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback to students and families
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration regarding curriculum, instruction, and student support
  • Maintain appropriate classroom management and supervision of students
  • Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field required
  • Missouri teaching certification in Spanish preferred
  • Prior experience teaching elementary‑aged students preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching elementary world language instruction
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish
  • Familiarity with technology integration in the classroom
