Job SummaryThe Middle School English Language Arts Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, rigorous instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and literature while fostering a classroom environment rooted in Catholic values. Job Responsibilities- Integrate Catholic values and teachings into classroom routines, interactions, and instructional content.
- Plan and deliver ELA instruction aligned with curriculum standards, emphasizing strong literacy skills and analytical thinking.
- Teach reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, composition, and literary analysis using diverse instructional strategies.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of varied learners and support student success.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Assess student work using formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
- Participate in school liturgies, prayer, professional development, and community events as part of the Catholic school faculty.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching credential or certification appropriate for middle school ELA.
Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
Strong knowledge of ELA content, literacy instruction, and adolescent learning.
Effective classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to use instructional technology to support learning.
Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to school wide initiatives.
