Work Status:
Full Time, M-F, 8am-4pm. Time will be split between family advocate duties and classroom duties.
OACAC Head Start is seeking motivated team members for the position of Infant/Toddler Teacher Assistant and Family Advocate. Join a relationship‑based team where we strive to staff three teachers in each Early Head Start classroom to provide high quality care to infants and toddlers. Each mix‑aged classroom serves a total of eight children birth through two. Each teacher in the classroom works cooperatively as part of a team and provides primary caregiving to two to three children.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers in delivering class plans, lesson content, and interactive activities for infants and toddlers.
- Serve as a Family Advocate, interacting with all center staff and families daily, providing friendly, flexible support.
- Act as a liaison between families, staff, the community, and other family‑related services.
- Recruit and register enrolled children and families.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children and families.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 21 years of age and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to attain a credential (provided by the program) within 18 months of hire or to become certified in Social Services or a related field.
- Minimum of six college credit hours or Infant/Toddler CDA.
- Willingness to obtain Early Childhood Development Specialization Certification from Ozarks Tech (paid for by employer).
- Experience working with infants and toddlers.
- Degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Case management experience.
- Copy of transcript required with application.

Salary: $16.57 - $19.65
