Location(s):
Ava Head Start Center in Ava, MO (Douglas). Rate of Pay: $15.13 minimum per hour for non-credentialed staff; $ for credentialed staff. Classification: C-8 (36-40 hours when school is in session). Benefits after 90 days.
To promote social, emotional, physical and educational development of children and to provide support and guidance to parents and families.
Education and experience- Teacher Non-Credentialed Range 14:
Does not meet the education requirement items listed below. - Teacher Credentialed Range 13:
High School Diploma or HiSet;
Preschool CDA requirement. - Teacher I:
Entry Level Range 12:
Associate Degree in Early Childhood or Equivalent Coursework that meets Head Start Performance Standards;
Note:
Infant/Toddler Specific coursework required for EHS placement. - Teacher II:
Mid-Level Range 11:
Baccalaureate Degree in Early Childhood or related field with a minimum of 12 Early Childhood credits;
Alternative Equivalent coursework that meets or exceeds Head Start Performance Standards. - Teacher III:
Advanced Level Range 10:
Master’s Degree in Early childhood or related field with a minimum of 12 Early Childhood credits. Alternative Equivalent coursework approved that meets or exceeds the Head Start Performance Standards.
- Meet established child development outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with program regulations and standards.
- Direct and modify child behavior appropriately; support relationships between children and families through regular communication.
- Maintain records.
- Contribute to team effort.
- Teamplayer: promote Head Start program; develop professional and technical knowledge.
