General Function:
The Missouri State University Libraries Part‑Time Evening Access Services Associate position will serve in the University Libraries’ Access Services unit as support for front line service at the primary service point during the evening and late‑night hours.
Description of Primary Duties:
The Missouri State University Libraries is seeking applicants for a Part‑Time Evening Access Services Associate. This position will work in tandem with departmental full‑time staff and student employees to provide access and service to the MSU community. Under the direction of the Coordinator of Public Services, the Evening Access Services Associate will connect users to the library’s information resources, ensure the efficient operation of the library through the supervision and management of the service desk, special projects, participation in closing procedures and other duties as assigned.
Regular
Hours:
In‑person Sunday – Thursday, 8 pm – 12 am during the fall and spring semesters which begin in late August and end in May.
Summer
Hours:
Monday – Thursday from June to early August. The successful candidate will have the ability to negotiate their hours up to 20 hours per week during the summer session, but they must include the 6 pm – 8 pm time slot Monday – Thursday.
Minimum Acceptable
Qualifications:
1 – 2 years of experience in a customer‑service role, preferably in a library or higher education setting.
