Admissions Counselor

Missouri State University is hiring an Admissions Counselor. The counselor will develop and implement recruitment strategies within a specific territory, manage the student recruitment pipeline, and serve as a representative for the university to prospective students and related stakeholders.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate recruitment strategies to increase student engagement, applications, and enrollment yield.
• Manage all aspects of student recruitment including relationship development, outreach, event planning, student counseling, and enrollment conversion.
• Represent Missouri State University to prospective students, families, school counselors, community organizations, transfer partners, alumni, faculty, and staff.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, admissions policies, financial aid, and student support services.
• Required skills include public speaking, organizational abilities, and proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office.
• Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum one year of recruitment or related experience; significant student leadership experience may substitute.
• Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Position involves frequent overnight and weekend travel, mainly in fall and spring semesters; travel expenses reimbursed.
• Annual salary of $45,000; full-time exempt appointment without work visa sponsorship.
