Midwest Technical Institute – Springfield, IL

$1000 Sign On Bonus after 90 days of employment

Pay: $56,000–$65,000 annually (based on experience)

Schedule:

Monday–Thursday | 7:30 AM–5:00 PM

Help Train the Next Generation of Electricians

Midwest Technical Institute is seeking an experienced Electrical Instructor to teach and mentor adult students preparing for careers in the electrical trade. If you have strong industry experience and enjoy helping others succeed, we‘d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom instruction and hands-on lab training using an established curriculum.
  • Demonstrate industry best practices, safety standards, and electrical techniques.
  • Evaluate student progress through assignments, practical assessments, and exams.
  • Prepare students for industry certifications and entry-level employment.
  • Maintain a positive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
  • Track student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
  • Ensure lab equipment and materials are maintained and ready for instruction.
  • Collaborate with academic leadership to support student success and continuous program improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends and maintain applicable certifications.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of professional electrical industry experience.
  • Teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, codes, and safety standards.
  • Current industry certifications preferred, where applicable.
