Product Engineering Manager (Springfield MO)
This position will be responsible for taking an assigned projects/tasks and following them through to completion. Position will also be responsible for managing a team of technicians/personnel in developing remanufactured products. This will require the individual to work with various departments and groups to develop a strategic plan to achieve the desired results. This person should be goal oriented and a self‑starter with technical aptitude.
They must also possess good computer and communication skills.
- This position will be responsible for specific reman product development to achieve CNH Reman SBP
- Key driver of production safety, quality and efficiency
- Manage expense tracking and work orders for related accounts. Participate in and support Open Book Management
- Assist and maintain adherence to project timelines. Work within budgets using a balance of creativity and capital
- Manage product release projects from inception to production approval, including continued product support post release
- Assist Director of Engineering with budgets and new product planning
- Participate in APQP Process. Assist/communicate with Mfg. Engineer to determine capital required
- Research information on new products. Must be able to lead and direct a team in all functions of discipline.
- Work with CNH Engineering to obtain technical advice and authorization of remanufacturing techniques
- Read and comprehend component drawings, service manuals, part catalogs, service bulletins, and engineering releases.
- Supervise personnel/techs. Assist project coordinator/accounting department on setting cost standards
- Supervise/assist/review creation of Bills of Material (BOM), including replacement % for core and new components
- Supervise/assist/review creation of FMEA, work instructions, control plans, labor standards, production control documents, specifications, etc. Assist in the validation (ISIRs) of aftermarket parts and new or secondary suppliers.
- Review/assist with Change Requests (PCRs), Document Change Notices (DCNs), RER’s, & BOM change requests specific to product
- Assist engineering buyer/materials to source and obtain pricing for new parts not currently in PICK
- Assist/communicate with Mfg. Engineer to determine tooling, specifications, testing, etc for new product release
- Assist/coordinate PPAP process for new product release. Submit all required documents to Product Engineering Manager for appropriate PPAP approval. Research product information for part number revisions and upgrades
- Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Engineering. Timecard approval process. Review and report incidents and accidents. Collect and submit monthly engineering expense (tracking sheet)

- Quality – Support the quality policy and ensure processes are being followed, trained employees, etc.
- Cost – Participate in budget, capital, and daily financial tracking
- Delivery – Focus on internal and external customers
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED, BS degree in technical or business discipline, BS degree in Engineering field preferred
- Experience in manufacturing setting with progressive and technical responsibilities including Supervision
- Project management experience 3+ years. Requiring hours of service that would average at least 30 hours of service per week.
- Ability to use office equipment including personal computers with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to develop/recommend appropriate assembly & testing processes for products to determine reliability, durability, and performance characteristic. Highly knowledgeable about product & components. Six Sigma certification would be considered an asset
- Ability to read & comprehend prints – GD&T trainings preferred. Must be able to read MSDS sheets. Overtime
- Strong analytical skills/logic with the ability to put into action. Strong trouble shooting/problem solving skills
- Knowledge of various machinery including welding, machining, wash, press and material handling equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to communicate knowledge
- Broad exposure to manufacturing processes, tools and equipment. Walking, Standing, bending, lifting, stooping, reaching.
- Familiar with many drawing formats, units of measure, measuring tools and techniques
- Good understanding of OSHA, ANSI and the EPA as they relate to industry and industrial situations is preferred
