Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to take full ownership of our Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes. This is a newly created role designed for an engineer who thrives on organization, documentation, and cross-departmental collaboration.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design and production, ensuring that every modification to our product line is vetted, documented, and seamlessly integrated into our manufacturing workflow.

Location: Onsite (Relocation Assistance Available)

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the ECN/ECR Process: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of engineering changes, from initial request through to final release.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact between Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to validate the impact of design changes.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical drawings, and specifications within the Solidworks PDM/Vault environment.
  • Technical Analysis: Use engineering principles to evaluate designs for manufacturability (DFM) and feasibility; perform calculations to size and analyze mechanical systems as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the current documentation workflow and implement strategies to increase speed and transparency.
  • Lifecycle Management: Monitor existing product designs to troubleshoot, revise, and optimize parts for continued improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 2–5+ years of experience in an engineering role with a heavy emphasis on change management or process engineering.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in Solidworks and Solidworks PDM/Vault is required.
  • Documentation: Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for technical writing and record-keeping.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex engineering changes to non-technical stakeholders across the company.
