Job SummaryRapid Fire Safety & Security is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our growing team. The Fire Sprinkler Designer will be responsible for designing fire protection systems for our commercial customers. This role requires a strong understanding of NFPA codes, local regulations, and construction practices, with a focus on leveraging BIM and CAD software for efficient and accurate designs.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in BIM, CAD, Auto Sprink, and Navisworks and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Design fire sprinkler systems for commercial projects in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and project specifications.
- Prepare detailed drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists using BIM, CAD, and Auto Sprink software.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate fire protection designs into overall building models using Navis Works.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of fire protection systems.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections to gather information for design purposes.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for accuracy and compliance.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest codes, regulations, and technologies related to fire protection.
- Provide technical support to installation teams and address any design-related issues that may arise during construction.
- Manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design, specifically for commercial projects.
- Proficiency in BIM, CAD, Auto Sprink, and/or Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 24 standards.
- Experience with hydraulic calculation principles and software.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- NICET certification in Fire Sprinkler Design [Level II or higher preferred] is a plus.
- Valid driver's license.
