Overview
Seeking a Process Engineer I to support front-line plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives for a leading industrial manufacturing organization based in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri
. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining process stability, investigating deviations, improving efficiency, and supporting day-to-day production within a large-scale lime manufacturing environment. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
- Support daily plant operations by monitoring process performance, identifying deviations, and troubleshooting operational issues
- Maintain and improve process stability by developing and managing key process control parameters
- Analyse production data and apply statistical tools to identify variation, improve efficiency, and reduce cost
- Work closely with operations teams to understand process behaviour and correct deviations from target conditions
- Collaborate with Process Controls Engineers to utilise PLC systems and reduce process variability
- Lead or support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions
- Support Quality activities including measurement system analysis and Gauge R&R studies
- Train and support operators in performing product testing and quantitative analysis
- Lead or participate in process review meetings to align operations teams and maintain performance standards
- Support equipment outages, inspections, and planned maintenance activities to ensure process reliability
- Assist with small capital projects ($25k–$100k), including process input, execution, and commissioning support
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards across all activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Up to 5 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or industrial operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of process engineering fundamentals, including process control and variation reduction
- Ability to interpret process data and apply statistical methods to improve performance
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Comfortable working in a plant-based, hands-on environment
- Experience in lime, chemical, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
- Exposure to process control systems (PLC systems) and process optimisation tools
- Experience with statistical process control or data-driven improvement methods
- Background in quality systems, measurement analysis, or Gauge R&R
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
