OSP Engineer

We are seeking a skilled OSP Engineer with experience in Lumen, Century Link, or Bright Speed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fielding, engineering and permitting multiple project types. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of network projects.

• Design and develop outside plant (OSP) network infrastructure including fiber optic and copper.
• Perform field surveys, site walks, and feasibility assessments to identify the best routing for network deployments.
• Create and review engineering plans and CAD drawings.
• Manage build budgets and compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and contractors to ensure project milestones are met.
• Be experienced with Metro Ethernet, Fiber to the Tower, Road Moves and BAU engineering.
• Be experienced with permitting at the state and local level.
• Be experienced with both aerial and buried placement methods.
• Be experienced with pole inventory, pole loading analysis and joint use agreements.
• Be able to identify fiber strands and copper pairs in use both in the field and in records.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in OSP engineering with Lumen, Century Link, or Bright Speed.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and other OSP design software.
• Strong understanding of permitting, right-of-way, and utility coordination processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
