The Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing and preparing high‑quality electrical engineering permit drawings and construction documents to support field electricians on complex electrical installations. This role bridges engineering and construction by working closely with field electricians, project managers, designers and VDC/BIM teams to deliver fully constructible designs across a wide range of projects. In addition, the Electrical Engineer reviews outside engineering documents for accuracy, identifies value‑engineering opportunities, and performs engineering studies such as arc flash, short circuit, duct‑bank ampacity, power‑factor correction and lighting.

- Develops and prepares detailed electrical engineering permit drawings and construction installation documents to support field execution.
- Develops conceptual designs, sketches, and value engineering ideas to support project managers and estimators during planning and preconstruction.
- Prepares electrical calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation throughout all phases of construction.
- Under the supervision of a licensed electrical engineer develops, reviews and validates engineering studies including arc flash, short circuit, overcurrent protective device coordination, duct bank ampacity, load, lighting and power‑factor correction.
- Coordinates with vendors and reviews shop drawings to model accurate, fully constructible electrical systems within Revit.
- Participates in electrical construction and design‑related training.
- Adheres to company engineering standards and maintains strict QA/QC procedures for all deliverables.
- Recommends improvements to design standards, workflows and procedures. Responds to design questions, resolves issues and issues plan revisions as required.
- Stays current with new electrical and safety codes, materials, technologies and industry best practices.
- Leads small to mid‑size projects as assigned and provides technical guidance to other designers and engineers.
- Demonstrates knowledge of local building energy codes and standards and coordinates drawings for compliance.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with customers, foremen, project teams, specialty contractors, vendors and suppliers.
- Supports design team members while upholding the company’s core values.
- Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
- Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure efficient operations.
- Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through ethical business practices and high‑quality services to all stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
- EIT/EI certification or PE license; ability to sit for the Electrical PE exam within 12 years if not yet licensed.
