We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support and grow our industrial automation business in the Omaha, NE territory. In this outside sales role, you will work closely with manufacturers, utilities, consultants, and system integrators to provide automation solutions, including hardware, software, machine control, process control, and precision motion products.
Key Responsibilities- Develop new business opportunities through networking, vendor partnerships, market research, and prospecting activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers throughout the assigned territory.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and product recommendations tailored to customer application requirements.
- Generate quotations, process orders, submit required documentation, and provide ongoing technical support.
- Travel within the assigned territory using a company‑provided vehicle to meet with customers and support business development efforts.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, products, and industrial automation applications to effectively support customers and identify new opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with industrial automation technologies such as PLCs, VFDs, industrial communications, industrial software, HMI/SCADA systems, or precision motion control.
- Understanding of engineering design principles, industrial processes, and automation system applications.
- Proven ability to develop sales proposals, quotations, and technical presentations while effectively communicating complex technical concepts.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities, with the capability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Previous experience in technical sales, application engineering, automation engineering, or industrial solutions sales is highly preferred.
