Location: Overland Park, KS or Springfield, MO
A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or a newly licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who is passionate about hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater design. Candidates with several years of relevant experience who are actively pursuing PE licensure are also encouraged to apply.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of water resources and stormwater infrastructure projects while collaborating with experienced engineers in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
Responsibilities- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for water resources projects.
- Develop floodplain modeling and mapping using HEC-RAS
. - Design and analyze stormwater management systems and related infrastructure.
- Prepare engineering plans, technical reports, calculations, and supporting documentation.
- Storm drain systems
- Culverts
- Channel stabilization and restoration projects
- Water quality and stormwater management features
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and plan production.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients throughout project development.
- Support project planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Participate in field investigations and site visits as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Candidates actively working toward PE licensure will also be considered.
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, particularly floodplain modeling and mapping.
- Proficiency with HEC-RAS
. - Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D
. - Knowledge of stormwater infrastructure design, including storm drains, culverts, channel stabilization/restoration, and water quality features.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with municipal or consulting engineering projects.
- Familiarity with local, state, or federal water resources regulations.
- Experience preparing engineering reports and technical documentation.
