Design Engineer (Finance)

• Create and evaluate design ideas, considering form, function, cost, and manufacturability.
• Develop design improvement concepts.
• Design components to meet industry, customer, and cost requirements.
• Define engineering materials, production costs, and technical specifications.
• Participate in cross-functional product development efforts.
• Support project tracking and provide technical assistance across departments.
• Work effectively both independently and as a team.
• Interpret engineering drawings and relevant specifications.
• Uphold Positronic's standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
• Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
• Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices.
• Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 1 year of experience in a related technical field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The level of this position will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and reach overhead.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Requires use of technical equipment, measuring devices, and computer systems.
• Requires finger dexterity, near vision, and ability to interpret visual data.

• Work is performed primarily in an office environment with exposure to machinery, moderate noise, and standard shop materials.
• Travel is required on occasion.

• Knowledge Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering principles and connector design.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and industry/military specifications.
• Understanding of production processes, cost estimation, and material selection.
• Familiarity with CAD tools and Microsoft Office products.
• Growing knowledge of quality systems and root cause analysis methods.
• Skills Experience with 2D/3D CAD software required, Solid Works preferred.
• Experience with MS Office:
  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Clear communication with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Ability to evaluate design-function relationships and manufacturability.
• Skill in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Time management and task coordination.
• Abilities Ability to analyze and interpret technical documents and specifications.
• Ability to identify and communicate basic design issues or concerns.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision.
• Ability to apply logic and reasoning to solve routine design problems.
