- Design, develop, or redesign new and existing products, components, systems, and assemblies under direct supervision
- Create, change, and issue component, system, and assembly drawings using computer-aided engineering tools
- Review customer requirements and specifications, identify issues and changes, and convert technical requirements into detailed product requirements
- Conduct design analysis to ensure designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable
- Select and test suitable materials, ingredients, or components
- Develop ways to increase material recycling and decrease the carbon footprint of manufactured products
- Oversee engineering prototype assembly and testing
- Document, review, and approve product testing information and refine designs based on test results
- Analyze customer warranty, manufacturing, and validation test failures to improve current products
- Assist with test and technical reports and deliver simple or routine presentations
- Analyze processes, procedures, and systems and recommend improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or other engineering or related field
- 0-3 years of related experience
- Competent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
- Competent customer service skills with an ability to approach every business relationship as a partnership
- Competent problem solving skills with an ability to address customer issues and partner on resolutions
- Basic analytical skills
- Competent negotiation skills and an ability to resolve situations while making a point firmly and seeking a positive outcome for both sides
- Basic understanding and competency in working with computer software and mainframe applications to manipulate, analyze and reconcile data
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and other engineering software and databases
- Ability to create, read and modify product prints
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- General knowledge of welding, plating, die-casting, injection molding, stamping/cold forming, heat treatment process, fastener torque and other related skills
Demonstrates expertise in product design and development, with a strong focus on cost efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability. Proficient in using engineering software, including AutoCAD, and skilled in analyzing and improving engineering processes.
