Library Information Student Assistant – Work Study Required

Position Title:

Library Information Student Assistant – Work Study Required.

Job Type: Work‑study required; semester‑to‑semester position with potential spring and summer shifts. Work hours are determined by library needs; holidays may be required.

Location

Springfield Campus – Library (Access Services Department)

Pay

$15.00 per hour.

Eligibility

Must be a Federal Work Study recipient and authorized to work full‑time in the United States. Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Work Schedule

Fall:

  • Monday–Thursday 8 am–12 pm
  • Friday 8 am–6 pm
  • Saturday 9 am–6 pm
  • Sunday 3 pm–12 am
Final‑exam shift requirements:
Monday–Wednesday 8 am–2 am;
Thursday 6:30 am–12 am;
Friday 9 am–12 am;
Saturday 7 am–6 pm;
Sunday 1 pm–2 am. Semester: 15–20 hours per week. All shifts include at least one 12 am shift and one weekend shift. Primary Duties
  • Staff the main library information desk and provide customer service to a diverse community.
  • Lend library materials and shelve items.
  • Use the library’s online catalog.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, flexible, and dependable.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must meet all University requirements for on‑campus work.
