Full-time, 10-month contract, with benefits JOB SUMMARY

Coordinates and delivers logistical operations for all university and university-hosted events. Maintains records of significant logistical data relating to events.

Experience Required

Ability to work efficiently and independently according to an established written plan which outlines times, locations, and needs. Ability to troubleshoot unforeseen challenges to deliver on client expectations.

Job Functions
  • Coordinate and execute event setups, room resets, furniture placement, staging, and logistical support for campus events, conferences, residential operations, and special programs.
  • Interpret and fulfill logistical requirements for routine and complex events, including room layouts, equipment needs, resource allocation, inventory usage, and operational support plans.
  • Coordinate logistical support across university departments and external vendors to ensure facilities, equipment, and services are available and deployed appropriately.
  • Manage furniture, equipment, and operational inventories, including event furnishings, residential furnishings, guest bedding, university office furniture, and support of AVL inventory processes.
  • Coordinate repair, replacement, relocation, and maintenance of furnishings, equipment, and operational assets as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, operational data, event support documentation, and logistical tracking systems necessary for planning and decision-making.
  • Recruit, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate student workers while ensuring adequate staffing to support event, housing, and facility operations.
  • Support cross-functional event operations through collaboration and cross-training with Event Services and Event Production personnel.
  • Assist with stage setups, venue preparation, equipment deployment, and event execution activities in support of campus events and productions.
  • Serve as a backup administrator for EMS and as an event host or operational representative when needed to support successful event execution and client service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Event Services and university operations.
Personality Traits

This job is a good fit for people who enjoy getting out and working across campus in a variety of locations. They should work with smile and celebrate a job well done. Loading tables, chairs, assembling desks, putting up and removing signage are all parts of this job. They need an eye for detail to ensure furniture is placed correctly, and AVL equipment is fully functional prior to the call time for rehearsals or event start times.

Qualifications

and Education Required
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license (MO drivers must have a Class-E license) Maintain proficiency in the safe operation of vehicles, material-handling equipment, lifts, and other operational equipment required to support departmental responsibilities.
  • Will use a computer for basic tasks to verify setup and strike information, communicate with student workers, and clients.
Working Conditions
  • Office, field and warehouse environment, must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • The employee must be able to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of normal job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Some operational hazards accompany this job. Attention to safety standards is a must.
  • May be required to work on occasional nights and weekends.
