Overview
OMB is looking for an experienced Agricultural Lender to join our thriving team in the Springfield, MO market. As a representative of the bank, you play a key role in strengthening brand recognition while increasing our market presence by engaging with community members who can benefit from the products and services offered with a focus on agricultural lending activities.
The Agricultural Lender will serve as a trusted guide for borrowers throughout the commercial lending process, from preparing and submitting loan applications through closing. This role includes structuring and underwriting agricultural loans using a variety of funding and repayment options, as well as managing a loan portfolio for the life of the loan. Ongoing portfolio responsibilities include monitoring draws, overdrafts, and past-due accounts.
The lender is expected to build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships with a focus on relationship banking, identify opportunities to cross-sell additional bank products and services that benefit customers, and work closely with lending support staff to ensure a seamless process and outstanding customer experience.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of agricultural loan structuring and funding options, along with the ability to manage and grow a loan portfolio responsibly. This position requires excellent communication and relationship management skills, a commitment to meeting portfolio management and growth expectations, and the ability to represent the bank professionally within the community. Loan Officers must be licensed through applicable state and national authorities and are expected to perform in alignment with established performance, portfolio, and growth standards.

Responsibilities- 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday – Friday; overtime and weekends based on loan volume
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration preferred
- Three plus years of prior experience in ag lending required
- Experience in managing a portfolio of $40 million or more preferred
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and strong communication skills
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving and computer skills
- Basic knowledge of banking operations, documentation, policy and procedures
- Effective multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory banking and finance compliance requirements.
- Willingness to proactively cross-sell bank products & services
