JOB DESCRIPTION

This senior underwriter position is responsible for underwriting structured real estate investments. These investments include, but are not limited to, Predevelopment, Bridge, and Property Assessed Clean Energy projects. This role requires the ability to understand real estate finance and operations. This full‑time position is located in St. Louis, Missouri and requires limited travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze real estate investment opportunities.
  • Collect and review due diligence materials including financial statements, third‑party reports, and legal documentation.
  • Build and audit Excel‑based financial models to assess investment viability.
  • Conduct market studies and submarket trend analysis.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and present findings to the Investment Committee.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve underwriting issues.
  • Apply Twain’s systematic underwriting program to ensure consistency and risk mitigation.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in underwriting or financial analysis in the commercial real estate sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial modeling tools.
  • Strong understanding of key metrics such as LTV, DSCR, NOI, and Cap Rates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
