The Business Intelligence & Planning Department is dedicated to empowering informed decision-making and driving strategic growth through comprehensive financial planning, data‑driven insights, and governance excellence. As a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst (internally known as Planning & Reserving Associate), you will play a key role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and reserving activities that guide strategic decision‑making across the organization. You will work closely with experienced team members to develop plan exhibits, compile financial projections, and analyze budget versus actual results. You will also maintain accurate documentation, coordinate plan updates with cross‑functional stakeholders, and assist in the preparation and validation of actuarial reserve analyses.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Actuarial Science, or a related field is required.

Required Qualifications:

• 1 or more years of professional experience
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Foundational analytical skills with the ability to compile and interpret data
• Ability to follow direction, manage tasks, and maintain consistent productivity
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
• This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to financial planning, budgeting, or actuarial concepts
• Familiarity with insurance industry practices or financial processes
• Experience supporting reporting, forecasting, or data analysis initiatives
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams or presenting information to stakeholders

Safety National is committed to fair, transparent pay and strives to provide competitive, market‑based compensation. The target base salary range for this position is $61,000 to $77,500, and compensation will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
