Job Responsibilities
- Supports first-line credit underwriting and portfolio management within the assigned specialized vertical
- Supervises a team of underwriters and credit analysts
- Overseeing risk grading, loan evaluation, and portfolio monitoring to maintain credit quality
- Collaborating with sales, risk, and credit teams to implement credit strategies
- Proactively identifies and escalates areas for improvement in credit processes, policies and procedures
- Monitors portfolio performance, identifying emerging risks and opportunities to support sound credit decisioning
- Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Business, Economics or related field
- 10+ Years of 1st line of defense credit underwriting, portfolio management, and risk management experience within the Financial Industry including credit strategy and credit analytics
- 3 + years of experience in managing teams of credit analysts, underwriters in the specialty vertical
- 3+ years of experience in the direct specialized line of business (Specialized commercial industries, capital markets, corporate commercial banking, etc.)
- Experience and expertise in credit bureaus, credit decision engines, credit and cash flow modeling for underwriting and portfolio management decisions, income/identity verification and loss forecasting.
Demonstrates extensive experience in credit underwriting, portfolio management, and risk management within the financial industry, with a strong focus on credit strategy and analytics. Proven ability to lead teams, monitor portfolio performance, and implement effective credit processes and policies.
