Pathologists' Assistant is a highly trained certified allied health professional who provides various pathology services under the direction and supervision of a pathologist. Pathology services may include the preparation, gross description, examination and dissection of human tissue from surgical or autopsy specimens.
Education and ExperienceEducation:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in a Science related field
Experience:
Required:
2 years anatomic pathology tissue preparation;
Preferred:
Completion of an NAACLS approved Pathologist's Assistant Program
- Strong mental and visual concentration.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on communication.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management. Demonstrates clear verbal and written communication.
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
Required:
ASCP Pathologists' Assistant certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
