The LPN performs administrative duties that include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records. Clinical duties include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics and medical information including review of medication list, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. This position involves the administration of medications as ordered by the physician. Performs specific competencies as directed by the department.
Responsibilities- Perform administrative duties: answering phones, scheduling appointments, data entry in medical records, and other clerical tasks as assigned.
- Perform clinical duties: measure and record vital signs, collect demographics and medical information, review medication lists, prepare patients for examination, and assist with room/area preparation and supply stocking.
- Administer medications as ordered by the physician and carry out competencies directed by the department.
- Education
- Required:
Graduated from a formal Medical Assistant (MA) training program that included pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship, OR graduated with an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Diploma.

- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required:
Certification from a program recognized by Cox Health — CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA (NCCT), CCMA (NHA), NRCMA (NAHP), or LPN - Must obtain American Heart Association BLS within 90 days of hire
