DescriptionThe Behavior Technician Supervisor (BTS) is the bridge between Behavior Support Technicians (BSTs), people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and the day‑to‑day operations of Individual Supported Living (ISL). You will encourage and mentor individuals and BSTs by supporting them in maximizing their full potential and providing training and support to all aspects of individuals’ life activities.
Day‑to‑Day ResponsibilitiesYou will support individuals and BSTs by:
- Encouraging and mentoring individuals and BSTs to maximize their full potential.
- Providing training and support in everyday life activities.
- Collaborating with the Program Supervisor to implement personal plans.
- Maintaining necessary records and reports.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of a therapeutic environment.
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Hygiene
- Purchasing of groceries
- Food preparation
- Medication administration
- Behavioral care
- Community participation
- Management of personal funds
- Assisting in implementing personal plans for clients.
- Implementing and communicating directives.
- Maintaining necessary records and reports.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of a therapeutic environment.
- Mileage reimbursement for use of personal vehicle for client activities.

- Paid initial and ongoing training certifications (CPR/ First Aid, MANDT verbal and physical de‑escalation, Paraclete, Level One Med Aide, etc.).
- Diploma from an accredited high school or equivalent.
- Six months experience providing direct care, treatment, and habilitation in the human service field.
- Preferred experience providing direct care, treatment, and habilitation to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders.
- Experience with behavior support techniques and crisis intervention.
- Ability to administer medications after certification by state and facility officials.
- Valid driver’s license; class E license preferred if driving Arc vehicles.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Capacity to stand, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs., and pull/push items.
- Organized, efficient, and able to follow the chain of command.
- Successfully complete a course in Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid.
- Successfully complete a 16‑hour course in Medication Administration.
- Successfully complete a 10‑hour course in MANDT System Workshop.
- Successfully complete a course in OSHA regulations on Health and Safety.
- Successfully complete a course in Abuse & Neglect.
- Successfully complete a course in Electronic Documentation.
- Other trainings may be required per department or home location; refer to policy 8.106 for specific requirements.
Serves as an ambassador for The Arc of the Ozarks mission and values, supports individuals in purchasing groceries, preparing food in compliance with dietary needs, and supervising meal activities. Maintains a safe and clean environment, administers medications per agency policies, assists with physicians' appointments, and documents medical and behavioral incidents. Provides crisis intervention, maintains inventory, and assists in the orientation and training of new employees.
Works with families, external stakeholders, and emergency services to ensure safety and well‑being of individuals served.
