Underpayment Analyst

A company is looking for an Underpayment Analyst to ensure hospitals receive accurate compensation for their services.

Key Responsibilities Examine hospital claims to identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursement amounts Investigate reasons for payment variances and contact insurance companies to resolve underpayments Maintain thorough documentation and actively participate in team discussions for process improvement

Required Qualifications Experience in getting hospital claims paid by commercial and government payors Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and healthcare billing software Familiarity with healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies Ability to navigate and interpret various payer policies, including Medicare and Medicaid Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing healthcare reimbursement
