Job Description

Under the guidance and direction of a Physical Therapist, a Physical Therapy Assistant assists the therapist with therapeutic exercises, training, or treatment plans to return the patient to a normal pattern of movement and functioning as possible. Works with patients from pediatric to geriatric ages who are referred for medical and educational services.

Primary responsibilities include performing patient-related activities and delegated procedures commensurate with educational skill and training. The assistant communicates care to physical therapy staff or others to evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment.

Education & Qualifications
  • Required:

    Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • No prior experience required.
Skills
  • Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills, and organizational skills.
  • Self‑motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Has demonstrated interest in professional growth through continuing education workshops and application of new principles and/or techniques.
Licensure

Required:

Active license for a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Missouri.
