Histotechnician II (Surgical Pathology) - Evenings

Position Title

Full‑Time Histotechnician II at Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) - Surgical Pathology Dept.

• Monday through Friday
• 12 Hour Shifts, 3 Days Per Week
• 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

• Prefer 2-3 years of histology (embedding/microtomy) experience
• Embedding, microtomy and IHC experience (preferred)

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of histotechnician experience preferred
• HT (ASCP) certification or equivalent required

• Understand test principles, theory, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas.
• Perform tasks such as microtomy, embedding, staining, reagent preparation; document quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoot malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary; perform special stains and immunohistochemistry (manual or automated) after reagent preparation.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to perform above tasks and responsibilities.
• Trained to complete tissue gross examination as needed.
• Meet the High Complexity qualifications as written in CLIA 42
