Intake Coordinator
Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital is seeking a full-time Intake Coordinator for our Intake Department. The social worker in this role screens callers to help assess and determine appropriateness for admission to Hawthorn’s Inpatient and Residential Program.
Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital uses the Sanctuary Model to guide our interactions with our teammates and the care we provide to our consumers to promote healing, safety, and nonviolence. This is accomplished by following the foundations of the Sanctuary Model to provide trauma informed and responsive care.
Responsibilities- Receives and triages calls to Hawthorn’s Intake Line
- Gathers records and collateral information about referred consumers to help determine appropriateness for admission
- Provides support and mental health resources to callers as appropriate
- Screens walk-in visitors for appropriateness for external Emergency Room transfer
- Schedules and coordinates admissions, completing intake documentation and assessments with the family/guardian(s) and consumer
- Prior experience providing services for individuals, preferably youth and families, with severe and persistent mental health conditions
- Working knowledge of DSM, evidence-based practices and social work ethics are strongly encouraged
- Degree and/or License in Social Work (MSW, LMSW, or LCSW). LCSW preferred
- Provisionally and fully credentialed candidates must be professionally licensed in Missouri
- Minimum qualifications for Clinical Caseworker, Sr. Clinical Worker, and Licensed Clinical
