Pediatric Pharmacy Technician, St. Louis Children's

Certified Pharmacy Technician

This pharmacy technician will staff our St Louis Children's at Cox Health Joint Venture Pharmacy in our hospital-within-a-hospital (HwH) model. Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

Pharmacy technicians present completed medications to the pharmacist for verification, routinely interact with patients to ensure quality service and other job duties where applicable.

Education:

Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Required:

Applicant must be at least 18 years of age.

Experience:

As required by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board for Certification Exam.

Skills:

Good verbal and communication skills. Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Direct customer and patient interactions. Exhibit problem-solving and organizational skill.

Licensure/Certification /Registration:

Required:

Must be certified as a Pharmacy Technician through a nationally accredited Pharmacy organization.

Required:

Registered with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or application in process upon hire and obtained within 90 days of hire.
