Find your calling at Mercy! The Senior Sonographer proficiently operates imaging equipment and software, mostly ultrasound equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities include serving as a lead, when direct leadership is unavailable, serving as a resource, and assisting in training. The Senior Sonographer requires proficiency and thorough understanding of operating imaging equipment and procedures while ensuring patient safety and maintaining imaging standards.
Effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals is essential for providing optimal care.
Education:
Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours
Minimum Requirements:

Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours
Experience:
2 years of relevant experience
License:
State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
Certifications/Registries: ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 4 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area OR 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area and 7 years of applicable experience;
Basic Life Support (BLS)
In the state of Arkansas, ARDMS-RVT OR CCI-RVS OR ARRT-VS may be required within 12 months of hire and/or transfer depending on scope of role.

- Knowledge of a variety of advanced procedures
- Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
