Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center has been meeting specialized eye care needs for over 26 years. Our Springfield location has a full-time Medical Records Clerk job opening. We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic, and energetic individual who is organized and has a positive attitude and a desire to help individuals with their health care needs.
This is a full-time position will be working Monday-Friday, no evenings or weekends required and offers a competitive hourly wage. Requires basic clerical experience including attention to detail, and excellent organizational and data entry skills. Previous experience in the healthcare and medical field required.
Job Responsibilities:- Organize, update, and maintain patient files using electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Run appointment schedules for all location excluding Lebanon.
- Distribute letters and medical records to be released on physicians' desk.
- Scan the following:
- Facesheet and HIPAA form into Optivate PM system
- Health and medicine form into Optivate EMR system
- Diabetic eye exams in patients charts and fax to appropriate doctors
- Patient demographics into patient charts in the EMR system.
- Scan/fax records to satellite offices.
- Other materials as needed.
- Print route slips for next business day's appointment and prepare chart sleeves for new patients.
- Protect sensitive data and maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations.
- Place route slips in sleeves and take to the front desk.
- Update any changes on the facesheet for established patients and new patient demographics in Optivate PM.
- Update the facesheet and HIPAA for established patients.
- Run messages to tech stations as needed.
- Monitor incoming faxes/emails and send them to the appropriate departments.
- Annually archive charts and prepare for OMUVS storage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in medical office.
- Strong proficiency with computer databases and data entry.
- High attention to detail, strong organization, and strict ethical judgement regarding privacy.
- Good communication, time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills to scan, organize, and access electronic health records.
