The IT Field Deployment Technician serves as the on‑site technical lead during new practice launches. This role ensures day one readiness of all end‑user technology, executes standardized deployment procedures, and provides a high touch first week support to newly onboarded offices.
This position requires consistent travel, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate in a professional client‑facing environment while delivering white glove service.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on‑site technology setup for new practice GoLives (Wednesday—Friday travel typical)
- Perform hardware setup including laptops, docks, monitors, and peripherals
- Execute first sign‑in validation, Microsoft 365 account checks, and MDM/MFA setup
- Troubleshoot on‑site hardware, connectivity, printers, and peripheral issues during deployment
- Configure Teams Phones and assist with call queue and delegation setup
- Coordinate travel logistics, including flights, hotels, and rental vehicles
- Follow standardized GoLive checklists and documentation procedures
- Provide limited overflow support to the IT Support Helpdesk during low‑volume travel periods (non‑ticket owning)
- Travel required approximately 2–3 weeks per month
- Typical on‑site presence Wednesday through Friday (occasional Saturdays)
- Travel planning and coordination expected as part of weekly workload
- Recovery time provided following extended travel periods
- 2+ years of hands‑on IT support, field technician, deployment, or systems installation experience
- Demonstrated experience in travel based or field service roles (70%+ travel preferred)
- Strong hardware troubleshooting and peripheral setup experience (laptops, monitors, printers, cabling, networking equipment)
- Experience operating independently and professionally in client‑facing environments
- Proven ability to follow structured processes and execute with consistency
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift and transport IT equipment as needed (50+ pounds)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently (air and ground transportation)
- Experience with in Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange, Entra, Teams)
- Familiarity with mobile device operating systems (iOS and Android)
- Background in training, instruction, or team leadership
- Experience providing end‑user support in service‑oriented IT environments
