Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support day-to-day server operations across Linux and Windows environments
- Build, configure, deploy, and maintain systems across development, test, and production
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of systems in a 24/7 environment
- Monitor system health, analyze logs, and troubleshoot issues to resolution
- Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and file systems
- Install, patch, and upgrade server software and applications
- Maintain documentation, configurations, and operational procedures
- Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
- Ensure compliance with security standards and policies
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on system design and improvements
- Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance system efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience
- 5–8+ years of experience supporting Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments
- Experience with Exchange and O365
- Proven experience in 24/7 production environments
- Strong understanding of server lifecycle management (build, deploy, patch, maintain)
- Experience supporting web-based application environments
, including: - Apache, Tomcat
- Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL
- Scripting experience (Shell, Perl or similar)
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals:
- DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Azure or Cloud platform exposure (preferred)
- IoT (Internet of Things) systems or device integration experience
- Experience with load balancers, firewalls, and web infrastructure
- Automation and scripting for system administration tasks
- Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Exposure to cybersecurity, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies
- Vendor management and cost optimization experience
- Strong communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
- Ability to clearly explain problem-solving approach and process
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership
- Adaptable and willing to wear multiple hats
- Comfortable supporting business-critical systems and stakeholders
