We are seeking a full-time Information Technology Technician to provide onsite technical support to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri. Working under the direction of the Government Systems Manager, the Information Technology Technician will support end-user computers, mobile devices, software applications, office technology, and related equipment. The successful candidate will combine strong technical troubleshooting skills with exceptional customer service and the ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels.

This position requires accurate documentation, timely issue resolution, and close collaboration with government IT personnel to maintain a secure, reliable, and efficient technology environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive technical support to USAO personnel for computers, mobile devices, software applications, and office technology.
  • Respond to end-user questions and troubleshoot hardware, software, system, and network-related issues through telephone, email, remote-access tools, and in-person desk-side support.
  • Diagnose technical problems, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and escalate complex matters when appropriate.
  • Assist users with configuring and optimizing system and application settings to improve performance and productivity.
  • Support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and servicing of mobile device management solutions, including Apple iOS devices.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, and support computers, printers, scanners, EVoIP/VoIP phones, and related peripheral equipment.
  • Assist with office relocations by disconnecting, moving, reinstalling, and testing IT equipment.
  • Support enterprise-wide hardware and software deployments, including installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and end-user assistance.
  • Coordinate vendor service calls for hardware problems and escort vendor technicians to affected equipment when required.
  • Provide conference-room technology support, including equipment setup, connectivity testing, and technical meeting assistance.
  • Develop and distribute user communications, such as system alerts, technical tip sheets, newsletters, and technology best-practice guidance.
  • Educate users on the effective and secure use of systems, devices, and software applications.
  • Document support requests, user communications, technical issues, corrective actions, equipment installations, and completed work in the designated IT ticketing system.
  • Monitor assigned support requests and provide users with timely status updates through resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technology, products, workflows, and support processes and present recommendations to government personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Government Systems Manager and other IT personnel to support operational continuity and maintain a secure and reliable IT environment.
  • Deliver consistently professional, courteous, and responsive customer service.
  • Follow all applicable organizational IT policies, cybersecurity requirements, procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Perform other related information technology support duties as assigned.
