Assistant Vice President (AVP), Underwriter Construction Casualty
We are seeking an experienced AVP Underwriter to focus on large construction casualty business. This role blends technical expertise, relationship management, and strategic sales execution to drive profitable growth. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team where your expertise will directly impact growth, profitability, and client success.
This role based and can be fully remote or hybrid in Chicago or St. Paul.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate new and renewal submissions, identifying exposures and structuring tailored loss-sensitive construction programs
- Analyze risk, pricing, and coverage terms; develop and present competitive proposals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail brokers in Midwest territory
- Drive new business through strategic positioning and pipeline development
- 5+ years of underwriting construction industry segments required
- Strong knowledge of General Liability, W/C, and Auto coverages required
- Expertise in loss-sensitive programs, pricing, and risk analysis preferred
- Retail brokerage network base in the Midwest territory required
