PositionImmigration Senior Associate or Senior Counsel with a minimum of five years of employment‑based immigration experience. We are seeking a candidate to support a high‑volume, sophisticated practice. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of U.S. employment‑based immigration laws and regulations, along with strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills. Candidates may be located at any of our offices, including our virtual office, The Link.
The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education business unit.
- Independently manage a broad range of employment‑based immigration matters, including nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processes.
- Advise corporate and institutional clients on immigration strategy, compliance, and risk management.
- Prepare and review complex filings, such as H‑1B, J‑1 physician waivers, L‑1, O‑1, TN, E‑3, other nonimmigrant petitions, PERM labor certifications, I‑140 immigrant petitions (EB‑1A, EB‑1B, EB‑2, NIW, EB‑3), I‑485 applications, and consular processing.
- Draft responses to RFEs, NOIDs, and other agency inquiries.
- Communicate directly with clients, HR professionals, and internal stakeholders.
- Supervise and collaborate with paralegals and junior team members.
- Contribute to practice development, knowledge sharing, and process improvement initiatives.
- Work both as part of a team and independently to manage projects for sophisticated clients, including higher education institutions and academic medical centers.
- Excellent academic credentials and a commitment to the community.
- Superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure.
- Ability to manage a high caseload of complex matters with competing deadlines.
- Exceptional judgment, excellent communication and writing abilities.
- Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office, or the ability to obtain one as soon as possible.
- Professional experience in employment‑based immigration, preferably five years or more.
- Proactive, dynamic, and entrepreneurial attitude, with varied background, interests, and experience.
Compensation ranges are as follows, pursuant to applicable state laws:
- Senior Associate – California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington: $250,000‑$315,000.
- Senior Associate – New York, Vermont, Washington, D.C.: $240,000‑$305,000.
- Senior Associate – Illinois, Minnesota: $215,000‑$305,000.
- Senior Counsel – California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington: $210,000‑$350,000.
- Senior Counsel – New York, Vermont, Washington, D.C.: $175,000‑$335,000.
- Senior Counsel – Illinois, Minnesota: $175,000‑$350,000.
- Other markets: salaries vary based on market data.
Associates are eligible for an Associate Performance Bonus and Client Development Bonus.
