The City of Springfield is seeking a dynamic Safety Manager to lead and strengthen our safety program. This is a high-impact role for a proactive leader who wants to protect employees, improve workplace culture, and reduce risk across diverse departments and job sites. As Safety Manager, you will design and drive safety strategies, conduct inspections and investigations, guide departments on safe work practices, and lead training and compliance efforts that truly make a difference.
You will work hands‑on in the field and at the strategic level – shaping policies, improving systems, and helping to ensure every employee's safety.

Experience, Education, and Training- Graduation from a four‑year accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related discipline;
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience in corporate or public safety management functions;
- Directly related work experience may be substituted for the formal education requirement on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is preferred.
