The Assistant Director partners closely with the Regional Director to oversee program operations, personnel, and service delivery across multiple community-based programs, including Day Program, Home Skills Development, Community Networking, Personal Assistance Services, Independent Supported Living, and Shared Living.

This position provides leadership, supervision, quality assurance oversight, staff development support, and community relationship management while ensuring exceptional services are delivered to clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, growth, and oversight of Day Program, Home Skills Development, Community Networking, Personal Assistance Services, Independent Supported Living, and Shared Living services
  • Support and mentor Program Coordinators and support staff while assisting the Regional Director with daily operations and personnel management
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with community partners, funding sources, case management entities, and state agencies
  • Represent the organization and individuals served in a positive, professional manner with clients, families, team members, and community stakeholders
  • Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and ensuring team members meet employment qualifications and screening requirements
  • Monitor quality management activities and support the implementation of organizational goals, initiatives, and strategic objectives
  • Ensure required staff training, certifications, and compliance requirements are completed and properly documented
  • Maintain accurate records, billing documentation, client files, and confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA requirements
  • Participate in leadership meetings, supervisory sessions, employee evaluations, and organizational planning activities
  • Provide on-call support according to the regional office schedule and assist with special projects and other assigned duties
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Relevant experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities may substitute year-for-year in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of directives and guidelines related to Developmental Disabilities services
  • Experience developing community partnerships and coordinating with external agencies
  • Experience supervising staff, building teams, and supporting employee development
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills including the use of databases, spreadsheets, and reporting systems
Additional Qualifications
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance required
  • Successful completion of criminal background, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint screenings
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, team members, community agencies, and stakeholders
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and appropriate boundaries
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations
  • Ability to adapt effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
