Product Development Hub Lead

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Product Development Hub Lead, are to:
  • Act as an active member of the Vegetable Seeds R&D leadership community, shaping direction and priorities for breeding and product development;
  • Build and maintain a strong, collaborative network across Vegetable Seeds Commercial, Global Plant Breeding and other R&D stakeholders to align on shared goals;
  • Facilitate strategy alignment with Product and Technical Units, Enabling Teams, Capability Centers and key business stakeholders to ensure coherent, end‑to‑end delivery;
  • Prioritize effectively and allocate resources to support Product, Technical and Enabling Teams, balancing short‑term needs with long‑term innovation;
  • Drive adoption of new capabilities and technologies at scale and embed them into product and enabling teams to accelerate genetic gain and product performance;
  • Identify technical and resource bottlenecks and engage stakeholders to define and prioritize approaches that deliver products and solutions efficiently;
  • Explore and evaluate new internal and external technologies to accelerate genetic gain and enable future product positioning with growers globally, including agronomic and digital solutions;
  • Lead strategic skill planning for the teams, ensuring dynamic resource and talent flow across product, technical and enabling teams to meet evolving business needs;
  • Identify, develop and attract future skill needs to build a robust talent pipeline in the hub's domain expertise;
  • Ensure the hub provides best‑in‑class expertise in plant science, new breeding methodologies and enabling technologies to strengthen the breeding pipeline and accelerate genetic gain;
  • Lead talent development and talent flow by mentoring and coaching employees and fostering high‑performing, inclusive teams;
  • Use independent, creative thinking to design and support new operating models that build and sustain high‑performing teams and individuals;
  • Ensure safety, legal and compliance considerations are consistently at the forefront of activities across centers, hubs and teams.

  • Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Breeding, Genetics, Genomics or another relevant field;
    + Advanced understanding of breeding methodologies across crops and new breeding technologies to drive genetic gain and optimize product placement with growers;
