Description
Nova Center of the Ozarks is seeking an experienced and passionateDay Services Directorto provide leadership and oversight for our Day Services Department, includingCommunity Supports, Day Program, and Employment Supports.
The Day Services Director is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring high-quality programming and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. This position oversees day-to-day department operations, provides leadership and support to program management, ensures regulatory and documentation compliance, and works closely with Executive Leadership and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who is organized, motivated, compassionate, and committed to creating meaningful opportunities for the individuals we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and oversight of the Day Services Department, including Community Supports, Day Program, and Employment Supports.
- Supervise and support program management and ensure effective day-to-day department operations.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate quality programming based on the needs, goals, and Person Plans of individuals receiving services.
- Ensure consistency and quality of services across Day Services programs.
- Monitor client documentation, incident reporting, medication-related documentation, daily logs, behavioral strategies, and other required records.
- Participate in annual planning meetings and provide recommendations regarding individual goals and services.
- Maintain open and effective communication with individuals served, families/guardians, Service Coordinators, staff, management, and Executive Leadership.
- Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, development, evaluation, and performance management of department staff.
- Monitor staffing needs, attendance, leave requests, scheduling, and department coverage.
- Ensure staff adherence to Nova Center of the Ozarks policies, procedures, training requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and appropriate performance management to department leadership and staff.
- Oversee Medicaid Waiver billing and ensure departmental contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Coordinate and assist with departmental training and staff development.
- Participate as a member of theNova Center of the Ozarks Senior Leadership Teamand contribute to organizational planning, policy development, goal setting, and interdepartmental initiatives.
- Represent Nova Center of the Ozarks professionally in meetings with outside agencies, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degreein Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, Social Work, or a related human services field required.
- Minimum ofthree years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilitiesrequired.
- Minimum oftwo years of supervisory experiencerequired.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs with therapeutic objectives.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise staff, manage competing priorities, and maintain accountability.
- Strong understanding of documentation, records management, and confidentiality requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Must be certified or have the ability to become certified inCPR/First Aid, MANDT, and Medication Administration.
- Must have reliable transportation, a validClass E driver's license, acceptable driving record, and required automobile insurance.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, including standing for extended periods, walking moderate distances, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
