RoleAs a Field Service Technician, you will work with a team that supports Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC. You will contribute to installation and servicing of custom equipment, interact with customers and cross-functional service groups, and support the R&D team with engineering work related to design, build, and new system testing. This position will also support the production of systems during various stages of assembly and setup.
Responsibilities- Install, repair, troubleshoot, service and calibrate high-tech machines at customer locations.
- Demonstrate customer service skills and knowledge with a high level of passion and dedication.
- Learn new skills on high-tech Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using mechanical and electronic aptitude.
- Perform administrative paperwork accurately and completely.
- Be solution-oriented with the ability to work independently in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and innovative environment.
- Travel 90–100% within the service area, including international travel as needed.
- Other duties as required.
- Minimum of a high school graduate, GED or equivalent.
- AS/BS in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, military technical training, or 4 years of related experience.
- Experience with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
- Microsoft operating system knowledge.
- Capable of unassisted physical lift of up to 75 pounds.
- Able and willing to work a minimum of 50 hours per week (regular plus OT).
- Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Excellent communication and customer service aptitude.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
- Experience with CMM installation and troubleshooting (preferred but not required).
