Job Overview
The City of Springfield Environmental Services Department is seeking a Plant Machinist at the Southwest Waste Water Treatment Plant. This position will set up and operate an end mill, lathe, drill press, iron worker, bench grinder and sander. You will use a micrometer to help mechanics within the shop determine wear on parts that exceed OME specifications and repair worn items.
Complex duties include the inspection, fabrication, manufacture, repair, disassembly, and assembly of general and specialized parts, equipment, and tools used in the maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, machinery, and related systems.

Qualifications and Requirements- High school diploma or GED;
- Minimum of five years’ experience as an industrial machinist;
- OR high school diploma or GED and successful completion of a recognized machinist trade training program;
- A minimum of three years’ experience as an industrial machinist.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
